SLQS Gallery, 20 Club Row, London, E2 7EY Talk, Wine & Cheese 6:30-8:30pm
As part of Women’s History Month this March, we are delighted to present a special intimate evening with American curator and collector Marcelle Joseph, in conversation with Sarah Le Quang Sang, Founder and Director of SLQS Gallery.

We will discuss Joseph’s journey into collecting and supporting female-identifying and non-binary artists: from building the Marcelle Joseph Collection and co-founding the GIRLPOWER Collection, to establishing the GIRLPOWER Residency in the South West of France. Together, Joseph and Le Quang Sang will discuss the responsibilities and opportunities of collecting with purpose, and how patronage can actively contribute to redressing historic gender imbalances within the art world.

Holding an MA in Art History with Distinction from Birkbeck, University of London, specialising in feminist art practice, her curatorial work focuses on gender and the performative construction of identity. Joseph has curated over 50 exhibitions featuring more than 350 international artists. She serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees at Mimosa House, is an Ambassador of the Royal Academy Schools and served on the jury of the 2017-2019 Max Mara Art Prize for Women, in collaboration with the Whitechapel Gallery.

Particularly suited to those interested in beginning or developing a collection, the evening offers rare insight into how thoughtful and value-based collecting can create long-term impact for female-identifying and non-binary artists.

The conversation will take place within the exhibition Au fil du temps, presenting the works of the recipients of the 2025 GIRLPOWER Residency. Guests will enjoy the conversation over wine and cheese.

This is a ticketed event. Advance booking required.
