Painted with Chinese ink, this landscape of Dover White Cliffs and the small boat mirrored the film Land Sailing. An abstract giant, or Cyclopes, overlooks the strait, with feet overlapping the cliff edge. The light, childlike marks evoke innocence, yet the dark, turbulent waters suggest a perilous boundary, hinting at the dangers and bureaucracy that separate worlds.

Ziyi Wang 王几 (b.1999) is an artist and researcher from Beijing, China, currently working in London. As a millennial navigating the complexities of a trans-migrant existence, she employs humour as a method to challenge established systems, borders, and bureaucracy. Wang's practice are mainly video installations, blending elements of documentary, comedy, and ready-made props, usually stemming from her personal fragility and the intricate exploration of her identity as an Asian female artist. With structural reflection and literary narration, Wang’s work connects with a larger framework of fluidity, reflecting the contemporary ethical landscape shaped by globalisation, post-colonialism, and the evolving policies surrounding migration. Wang graduated from Slade School of Fine Art with MA Fine Art (2024) and Beijing Normal University majoring Philosophy (2022).
